About Us

CEDOS is the voice of senior Economic Development professionals from across the public sector. Our aim is to share knowledge and best practice and engage with sector leaders and central government to shape future economic development policy. We do this by:

  • Quarterly, issue-focused challenge sessions with sector leaders;
  • Actively bringing together practitioner-based research that provides a basis for influencing policy nationally and locally and identifying developments in economic initiatives across the country;
  • Enabling professional networking and learning and development exclusive updates and access to contacts in local authority economic development and in wider stakeholders provides the opportunity to keep up to date, share knowledge, collaborate and exchange best practice;
  • Responding with a collective voice to relevant national consultations.

Membership is open to senior leads from organisations and partnerships with a core focus on strategic economic development. Membership is by organisation, not individual, enabling different representatives to participate which brings a range of skills and expertise to the economic development issues covered.

CEDOS will shortly be looking for a new consultant who has the experience, skills, enthusiasm and commitment to provide ongoing consultancy support to the Society. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to help take forward, support, promote and influence local economic development and prosperity across the country.
